Winn Golf: Founded in 1973 by Ben Huang, Winn began as a tennis ball manufacturer. An aerospace engineer by training, Dr. Huang had, in the 1960s, worked under Dr. Wernher Von Braun to develop the Saturn V rocket which eventually took Armstrong to the moon. Ben then decided to use his advanced engineering and materials knowledge to make more comfortable golf grips after a rough week at a golf training camp. He realized that traditional rubber grips were too slippery and that they forced overcompensation which threw off his swing. Today, Winn is the largest golf grip manufacturer in the world and their products can be found on every major golf course in the world. |
