CG Red Irons
The CG Red "Tour Spec" iron is the preferred option for Cleveland Golf's Tour staff. With a classic "player" profile, this club fits the eye of the accomplished golfer. Incorporating new Gelback™ Technology and next generation Micro-Cavity® Technology (MCT), workability, responsiveness and feel are at the forefront of this club design.
The vibration-tuned red Gelback insert is slightly more firm than the gold to cater to the more accomplished player who wants a soft feel on well struck shots but requires more responsiveness on off-center hits.
Less offset allows more workability for
the accomplished player. A thinner
topline also fits the better player's eye.
Combining a web hosel with a more compact head, the CG Red is meant for shotmakers. Feedback from our Tour players led to a slightly more square toe design as well.
GELBACK™ TECHNOLOGY
Gelback, Cleveland Golf's lightweight, visco-elastic, vibration-damping material, is placed directly behind the hitting area of the clubface in the back cavity. Gelback is vibration-tuned to remove unwanted vibration on mis-hits while still allowing the player necessary feedback from the clubhead for a soft yet responsive feel.
MICRO-CAVITY® TECHNOLOGY
Next generation Micro-Cavity Technology (MCT) provides better stability and more forgiveness by removing weight from the topline and redistributing it to the extreme perimeters of the clubhead.
COLOR-CODED HOSEL MARKINGS
Correctly fitting a set of irons to the player is essential for optimal performance. Once a player determines if he is "Red or Gold", the set may be further dialed-in using color-coded hosel markings that denote if the lie angle is flat, standard or upright.
