G5i Anser Putters
Dual Durometer insert: High tech polyeurethane materials are used to product this advanced dual durometer (measure of hardness) insert. The combination of the soft back insert (darker blue) and firm impact surface (lighter blue) provide optimal sound and feel for ultimate performance.
Precision milled cavity: Precision molded inserts and milled insert cavities are perfectly fit, creating a uniformly flat impact surface that provides consistent accuracy, sound and feel on every putt.
Strategic thru holes & cavities: Designed to increase the moment of inertia, thru holes and sole cavities were designed into several of the models in this series, moving the weight to the perimeter of the putter. The result is that G5i putters are approximately 10% more forgiving than previous models.
Optigraphic Alignment System: All G5i putters feature PING’s Optigraphic Alignment System to help golfers make more putts. The ball width crescent-shaped top rail, dual-colored top inserts and the cavity shapes make these putters very easy to align, inspiring a more confident stroke.
New dual textured Winn grips: These new Winn grips feature a dual textured pattern for improved feel as well as two styles: A PP58 style for non-face balanced putters, and a pistol size for face-balanced putters.

The trademark blue insert is actually two inserts in one. A firm urethane piece is set in the center of the face over a soft urethane piece. Each of the eight models has a ball-shape back cavity design to improve aim and alignment. The new Ally model opens the cavity to improve MOI. It works better in some version (Ally, Anser, B60) more than others (Tess). The solid feel and heft is as good as it gets for a blade and for a great price. It would be easy for the inventor of golf’s most classic putter shape to languish in a vat of retreads. But the G5i line is true to it Ping heritage with tweaks in the right places. Ping’s commitment to fitting cannot be over stated. It can be explained in three words: 10 lie angles.

Very nice putter. Great looks feel and roll. Loved the colors feel and overall looks of the club. This club is a great example of why ping is well known for putters. Well worth a look if you do not mind the slightly higher price.

I bought one on 12/26/05 just before beginning my round. I had been having trouble with missing very make-able putts from three to six feet. This problem was solved with my new PING 'Answer'. I also drilled a 40 foot birdie. This putter is wonderful and I love it!
